Phone Overview
The iPhone Air is Apple's thinnest iPhone, at 5.64 mm and 165 g, with a titanium frame and a 6.5-inch display. It trades camera hardware and battery capacity for its slim body while using the same A19 Pro chip family as the Pro models. It is aimed at people who value weight and thinness over camera range.
Performance and Processor
It uses the Apple A19 Pro. Independent sources report 12GB of RAM, more than the 8GB reported for the iPhone 17. Storage options are 256GB, 512GB and 1TB with no card slot. SpecHub has not benchmarked the phone, so sustained performance in such a thin body is untested here.
Display Experience
The 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display has 1260 x 2736 pixels and supports ProMotion up to 120Hz. Ceramic Shield 2 protects the front, and the Dynamic Island is retained.
Camera Experience
There is a single 48MP rear camera and an 18MP Center Stage front camera. No ultrawide or telephoto lens is listed, so the phone cannot take dedicated wide-angle or zoom shots. SpecHub has not tested image quality.
Battery and Charging
Independent sources report a 3149 mAh battery, which Apple does not publish. This is smaller than the 3692 mAh reported for the iPhone 17. Charging speeds are not listed because they could not be verified. We have no endurance tests.
Software and Features
The phone launched with iOS 26 and supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC and USB-C. It is eSIM only, so there is no physical SIM tray, which matters when travelling or switching carriers. It has Face ID, the Action button and Camera Control.
