This is an editorial analysis of the specifications listed on this page. It is not based on SpecHub lab testing, so it makes no claims about benchmarks, battery life or camera results. Manufacturer lab figures are not reproduced here.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 is Samsung's 2025 clamshell foldable. It opens to a tall 6.9-inch display and closes into a compact square with a 4.1-inch cover screen. It is released alongside the cheaper Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which uses different hardware. It suits buyers who want a pocketable phone and are willing to pay a premium for the form factor.
It uses the Samsung Exynos 2500 with a ten-core CPU at up to 3.3 GHz and an Xclipse 950 GPU. RAM is 12GB and storage is 256GB or 512GB with no card slot. SpecHub has not benchmarked the phone.
The main display is a 6.9-inch foldable AMOLED at 1080 x 2520 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The cover display is 4.1 inches (948 x 1048 pixels) and can show notifications, widgets and camera previews without opening the phone.
A 50MP main camera (f/1.8, optical stabilisation) is listed. Other rear and front cameras are omitted because we could not verify them. SpecHub has not tested image quality.
The battery is 4300 mAh with 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Compared with non-folding flagships such as the Galaxy S25+ (4900 mAh), the battery is smaller. We have no endurance tests.
The phone launched with Android 16. Samsung promises seven years of OS and security updates. The IP48 rating protects against water but only limited dust, which is typical for foldables with a hinge.
People who want a small, pocketable phone that opens into a full-size screen, and who are comfortable with a premium price, will find it appealing.
Buyers who want the longest battery life, fast charging or a dust-resistance rating should consider a non-folding phone such as the Galaxy S25+. Those who want a tablet-size screen should consider the Galaxy Z Fold7.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 delivers a very compact foldable with a large cover display and strong update support. Its limits are the smaller battery, 25W charging and IP48 rating.
