This is an editorial analysis of the specifications listed on this page. It is not based on SpecHub lab testing, so it makes no claims about benchmarks, battery life or camera results. Manufacturer lab figures are not reproduced here.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was announced on January 22, 2025 and released on February 3, 2025. It pairs a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X display with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a titanium frame, a built-in stylus and a four-camera rear system led by a 200MP sensor.
This page lists the S25 Ultra family in general. Network bands and SIM arrangements differ between the International, USA and China versions (model numbers include SM-S938B, SM-S938U and SM-S9380), so check the exact model before you buy.
The chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750-AC, 3 nm), with two Oryon V2 Phoenix L cores at up to 4.47GHz and six Oryon V2 Phoenix M cores at up to 3.53GHz, plus an Adreno 830 GPU at 1200MHz.
Memory options are 256GB, 512GB or 1TB with 12GB of RAM, and a 1TB version with 16GB of RAM. Storage is UFS 4.0 and there is no card slot. SpecHub has not run benchmarks on this phone.
The display is a 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel at 1440 x 3120 pixels (about 498 pixels per inch) with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. GSMArena lists a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, which is a listed figure and not a SpecHub measurement.
The front glass is Corning Gorilla Armor 2 with a DX anti-reflective coating. The 12MP front camera (f/2.2) records 4K video at up to 60fps.
The rear cameras are a 200MP main (f/1.7, 1/1.3-inch sensor, optical stabilisation), a 50MP ultrawide (f/1.9, 120 degrees), a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom. Both telephotos have optical stabilisation.
Video goes up to 8K at 24 or 30fps, with 10-bit HDR and HDR10+ listed. These are listed capabilities; SpecHub has not tested photo or video quality.
The battery is a 5,000mAh Li-Ion cell, charged at up to 45W wired (PD3.0), 15W wireless (listed as Qi2 Ready) or 4.5W reverse wireless. GSMArena lists the wired charging as reaching 65% in 30 minutes, which is a stated figure and not a SpecHub test.
SpecHub has not run battery-life tests, so no endurance claim is made here.
The phone launched with Android 15, and GSMArena lists up to 7 major OS updates. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 7 (tri-band), Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GNSS support for GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO and QZSS, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port with DisplayPort 1.2.
Other listed features are an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, Ultra Wideband, Samsung DeX and Samsung Wireless DeX, stereo speakers and IP68 dust and water resistance. There is no 3.5mm jack and no FM radio.
People who want a large-screen Android flagship with a built-in stylus, a 200MP main camera and two telephoto cameras will find the most to like. It also suits buyers who want a titanium frame, IP68 resistance and a lighter body than the S24 Ultra (218 g).
Buyers who want a compact phone, a headphone jack, a card slot or faster wired charging may prefer another model. Buyers who want to spend less may find the older Galaxy S24 Ultra a closer fit.
On paper, the S25 Ultra builds on the S24 Ultra with a newer chipset, a larger 6.9-inch screen, a 50MP ultrawide and a lighter body. Its charging speeds are unchanged at 45W wired and 15W wireless. It is best suited to people who want Samsung's top camera and stylus phone and can accept a large screen.
