The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is the top Pura model, announced on June 11, 2025 and launched globally on July 10, 2025 at €1,499 in Europe. It has a 1-inch-type main camera and two periscope telephoto lenses, giving it the widest zoom range of the Pura 80 line. The global model differs from the China version in software and battery size.
The phone has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in the global model. Independent sources report a HiSilicon Kirin 9020 chipset on a 7 nm process, with an octa-core CPU led by one core at up to 2.5 GHz, although Huawei does not publish the chip name officially. SpecHub has not benchmarked the phone.
The 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display has 1276 x 2848 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, the same resolution as the Pura 80 Pro. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted.
The rear cameras are a 50MP main (f/1.6 to f/4 variable aperture, 1-inch type), a 50MP periscope telephoto (f/2.4, 83 mm equivalent, 3.7x optical zoom), a 12.5MP periscope telephoto (212 mm equivalent, 9.4x optical zoom) and a 40MP ultrawide (f/2.2). The front camera is 13MP. SpecHub has not tested image quality.
The global model has a 5170 mAh battery, while the China version has 5700 mAh. Wired charging is 100W and wireless charging is 80W, with reverse wired and wireless charging. We have no endurance or charge-time tests.
The global model runs EMUI 15, which is based on Android, while the China version runs HarmonyOS 5.1. Check the version for your market, because it affects app and Google-service availability.
Photography enthusiasts who want the longest zoom and the largest main sensor in a Huawei phone will find it a good match.
People who want a lighter phone or a lower price should look at the Pura 80 Pro. Buyers who prioritise the biggest battery should note the reduced global capacity.
The Pura 80 Ultra is a zoom-first camera flagship with a very high price. The reduced global battery, weight and unpublished chipset name are the main caveats.
