This is an editorial analysis of the specifications listed on this page. It is not based on SpecHub lab testing, so it makes no claims about benchmarks, battery life or camera results. Manufacturer lab figures are not reproduced here.
The Xiaomi 15 was announced and released in China on October 29, 2024, and reached global markets at MWC 2025 in March 2025. It is the standard model of the Xiaomi 15 series, with a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a triple 50MP camera system with Leica branding.
GSMArena's review describes it as the smallest and cheapest of the lineup. The battery differs by market, at 5,240mAh for the global model and 5,400mAh for China, and the Xiaomi 15 Pro stays China-only.
The chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750-AB, 3 nm), with two Oryon V2 Phoenix L cores at up to 4.32GHz and six Phoenix M cores at 3.53GHz, plus an Adreno 830 GPU. Fonearena lists 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM for the global launch version, and GSMArena lists configurations up to 16GB with 1TB of storage in some markets. There is no card slot.
Xiaomi describes an IceLoop Wing-Type cooling system. SpecHub has not run benchmarks or thermal tests, so no performance claim is made here.
The display is a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED at 1200 x 2670 pixels (about 460 pixels per inch) with a 1 to 120Hz variable refresh rate. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and a 3,200-nit peak brightness is listed, which is a listed figure and not a SpecHub measurement.
Fonearena lists 1920Hz PWM dimming and Xiaomi Shield Glass protection for the global model. The 32MP selfie camera (f/2.0) records 4K video at up to 60fps.
The three rear cameras are all 50MP: a main (f/1.6, 1/1.31-inch sensor, optical stabilisation), a 3x telephoto (60mm, f/2.0, optical stabilisation) and an ultrawide (14mm, 115 degrees). Leica optics and laser autofocus are listed.
Video goes up to 8K at 30fps, with 10-bit Dolby Vision and LOG recording at 4K. These are listed capabilities; SpecHub has not tested photo or video quality.
The global Xiaomi 15 lists a 5,240mAh battery, and the China model 5,400mAh. Wired charging is 90W, wireless is 50W and reverse wireless is 10W. GSMArena's review says the EU retail package does not include a charger.
SpecHub has not run battery-life tests, so no endurance claim is made here.
The phone launched with Android 15 and HyperOS 2, and GSMArena lists up to 4 major Android upgrades. Connectivity includes 5G (SA and NSA), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LHDC 5, NFC, an infrared port and a USB Type-C 3.2 port.
It has an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, IP68 dust and water resistance and stereo speakers. There is no 3.5mm jack and no FM radio.
People who want a flagship chipset, a 3x telephoto and fast wired and wireless charging in a phone with a 6.36-inch screen and a weight under 195g will find the most to like.
Buyers who want a larger battery, a 1-inch main sensor or a longer periscope should look at the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Buyers who want a headphone jack, a card slot or a bundled charger in Europe need to check the package or a different phone.
On paper, the Xiaomi 15 is a well-equipped small flagship, pairing a current chipset and three 50MP cameras with fast charging. The global battery and the missing charger in Europe are its main compromises. It suits people who want a smaller flagship without giving up a telephoto lens.
