The Galaxy S26 is the smallest and lowest-priced phone in Samsung's 2026 S-series, announced on February 25, 2026. It keeps the compact 6.3-inch format of earlier base S models and adds a larger battery than the Galaxy S25. It is aimed at buyers who want a flagship Samsung that fits in one hand.
The chipset depends on the market: Samsung uses either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy or its own Exynos 2600. RAM is 12GB. Because the chip differs by region, check which version is sold where you live. SpecHub has not benchmarked the phone, and storage options are not listed because they vary by market.
The 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display has 1080 x 2340 pixels (about 411 ppi) and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The S26+ and S26 Ultra use sharper 1440 x 3120 panels, so this is the lowest-resolution screen in the series.
The rear cameras are a 50MP wide, a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto. The S26 Ultra adds a 200MP main camera and a second telephoto lens. Aperture, sensor size and front-camera details are omitted because we could not verify them. SpecHub has not tested image quality.
The battery is 4300 mAh, 300 mAh more than the Galaxy S25. Wired charging is 25W, which Samsung says reaches about 55% in 30 minutes with a 25W adapter, and wireless charging is 15W. We have no endurance tests.
The phone ships with Android 16 and Samsung's One UI. SIM options vary by market, with a Nano-SIM and an eSIM listed. Update-policy and water-resistance ratings are not listed here because they were not verified for this model.
People who want a compact flagship with a telephoto lens and a bigger battery than last year's model will find it a good match.
Buyers who want faster charging, a QHD+ screen or the largest battery should look at the Galaxy S26+ or the S26 Ultra. Those who want a stylus need the Ultra.
The Galaxy S26 is a compact flagship with a larger battery than its predecessor and a full triple-camera set. Its main limits are the 25W charging and the 1080p display, and its chipset varies by region.
